Why have you chosen to participate in Manifest Equality?
We think it's pretty dangerous to put arbitrary limitations on civil rights, and are honored to contribute something positive to an issue that has been surrounded by so much fear, anger, and misunderstanding.
Describe a bit about your submission to the gallery or the creative process you are putting into it.
Lately we've been painting bright patterns on found portraits from the Victorian through World War II eras, and these altered portraits bring a bit of a new perspective to the individual subjects as well as to ideas of family. This seems a perfect fit for the themes of Manifest Equality, so we're making a new piece in this style especially for the show.
What else would you like to manifest?
Compassion and selflessness, plus greater respect and understanding across borders.
